Lightroom Mobile Update June 2023

The June 2023 update of Adobe Lightroom Mobile brings with it improved performance and faster editing capabilities. This means that users can now get from capture to edit in less time than ever before. Additionally, the update includes bug fixes and other technical upgrades that make the program more reliable and user-friendly.

One of the most significant changes with this update is the improved user interface design and functionality. How to Easily Import Your Photos Into Adobe Lightroom Classic

Adobe Lightroom Classic is a powerful photo editing and organizing software. It allows you to easily import your photos from your camera or other devices, organize them into collections, and make edits with the help of its many tools. Here's how to get started importing your photos into Lightroom Classic.

First, open Lightroom Classic on your computer. In the Library module, click the “Import…” button to open the Import window. This will allow you to select which photos you want to import into Lightroom. You can also choose where they should be stored on your computer or external hard drive.

Once you have selected the photos you want to import, click “Import” at the bottom right corner of the window. This will start the process of importing your photos into Lightroom Classic. Depending on how many photos you are importing, this could take some time.

When the import process is complete, your photos will appear in the Library module of Lightroom Classic. From here, you can view them individually or as part of a collection. You can also make edits using any of Lightroom's tools and effects.

Importing photos into Adobe Lightroom Classic is easy and straightforward once you know how it works! With just a few clicks, you can quickly get all of your photos organized and ready for editing in no time at all!

October 2021 Update of Adobe Lightroom

Latest updates in Adobe Lightroom

Let’s have a look at the major enhancements and new features of Lightroom Classic’s latest version below:

Enhanced editing with masking:

Masking is the headline addition in the latest lightroom version. Arguably, it is a complete game-changer.

The local adjustment tools have merged into a solo masking icon. The icon is available in the tool strip. Clicking it will let you have a popped-up selection tools list, that includes the prior local adjustment tools that are known as Radial Gradient, Linear Gradient, and brush tools. This list also includes the Color Range mask, Depth Range Mask, and Luminance Range Mask.

Two new options in the list Select Subject and Select Sky:

These two new options are based on Artificial Intelligence to select an animal, sky, person, animal, or any other object that’s a clear part of your selected image. This one-click solution really performs well.

Improved workflow for metadata

The customize button allows you to select what fields are in your metatdata.

Even though this feature isn't as exciting as masking, the metadata panel has gotten a redesign. Now it will allow you to control which field you want to customize completely. You can open and customize the metadata panel by clicking the customize button.

Batch edit improvements

Adobe Lightroom’s recent release has also brought performance improvements because you can now apply editing to a batch of images easily. This way, you can quickly update previews in Survey, Secondary Grid, and Grid mode.

When you will apply batch editing on a larger number of images, you can put the metadata panel in Edit-Only mode to speed up performance.

Auto-Save in XMP

The recent release also offers several enhancements when you select write changes into XMP automatically. The XMP file will be automatically saved when there is any change in any image’s metadata. You can also pause this auto-save feature in the Catalog Settings.

Additional Features:

New Premium Presets sets are also available in Lightroom Classic to let you achieve your creative vision effectively. Premium Presets are now available with 8 new categories, Black & White, Food, Landscape, Urban Architecture, Lifestyle, Retro, Travel II, and Cinematic II. Adobe Lightroom has also come up with camera matching color profiles for Canon Picture Styles.

You can now filter your content by a specific date as well.

File storage has also been optimized. You can now find the “.lrcat-data” file in the same folder of the catalog file. This file will have essential information about your images.

All of these amazing enhancements are now available to use after the October 2021 release of Adobe Lightroom.

Topaz AI Workflow

Topaz has many impressive plugins that can be used with a variety of image editing programs or all on their own. In this blog post, I will discuss some of my favorite Topaz plugins and share my preferred workflows.

To get started let’s take a look at the plugins:

1. Adjust AI - This plugin is a raw editor like Lightroom. It works well but doesn’t compete well with other programs on the market.

2. Studio 2 - has many image editing filters so it could be used instead of Lightroom but it also has a huge number of creative filters. This is an excellent plugin.

3. DeNoise AI - as the name suggests this plugin removes noise and can sharpen images and it does a fantastic job.

4. Gigapixel AI - this plugin is great for enlarging small files and it does an excellent job.

5. JPEG to Raw AI - converts jpeg images to raw files. The raw files are not as good as a real raw file but it’s close so this plugin is useful in certain situations. I usually use it to convert phone images to raw files.

6. Mask AI - this plugin allows you to select subjects and create masks so you can make local adjustments or create composites. This plugin has been improving but I think Photoshop does a much better job.

7. Sharpen AI - sharpens images but more importantly, it can actually help fix images that are slightly out of focus due to motion blur or focus. This is another excellent plugin.

8. Video Enhance AI - enhances and upscales video. I don’t have any experience with this plugin so I can’t give you my opinion yet.

These plugins can be used on their own or with other programs like Lightroom, Photoshop, Luminar, On1, etc… Here I will show you how to add them to the edit in menu in Lightroom.

Workflow

Most of these plugins are very easy to use, however, the workflow and the functions of the tools can be tricky to understand and that’s what I will focus on in this section. My workflow involves round-tripping from Lightroom to Photoshop, then to a plugin, and back again, but you can use other editors instead.

Dodge & Burn with Luminance in LightRoom

Dodge & Burn with Luminance in Lightroom Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC Release 7.4 has added a new blend if slider to make your adjustments more targeted to colors or luminance levels. In this video, I will show you how you can use the luminance range mask for dodging and burning your images.

How to use the Range Mask in Lightroom.  The range mask can be used with the Graduated Filter, Radial Filter or Adjustment Brush.

1. Use one of these tools to make an adjustment to your image.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the tool's panel and click on range mask.

3. Select Color or Luminance

4. Adjust the blend if sliders and smoothness slider to taste.
