What was Adobe thinking? The new import process looks more modern and is designed to be easier for non-pros but looses some of it's features. Additionally, it causes a performance hit because it's always looking for new image folders to import. Luckily this can be turned off in the preferences, by un-checking "add photos". There are even rumors that it's causing Macs to crash. This may turn out to be a good update in the end, but I would wait for now until they figure out all the bugs. You can see the full update information here.

Apple has just announced the biggest and best tablet screen for the new iPad Pro. It's about the size of a 13-inch laptop and with the A9x chip and 4 GBs of Ram, it should be faster than 80% of the computers on the market today.
It is supposed to be able to edit 3 streams of 4K video. Pretty Impressive for a tablet, but what about storage space? You can't store too many 4K videos with 128 GBs of internal memory. Apple is also putting out a pencil and a keyboard to compete with the Surface Pro.
That all sounds great but would you buy one ($800-$1000)? What would you use it for? Do you think it will be useful for Photographers?
It would be nice if it could replace a laptop, but I think storage memory limitations still hold it back from being a true productivity tool. Check out this video that does a nice job of describing it's features.
If you are looking for a great resource to find a place to photograph, check out this site, it has resources for all 50 states. I'm from Rhode Island so you can click here to see an example. The site is cool because it shows you a map of the area and categories of photography. When you click on Sunset, for example, it shows you the best places to take sunset images. The site also shows images from that location which can help you determine if you want to visit this spot and it may even help you plan out the type of shot you want to make. The one downside to this site is, you should go away from the crowd and try to find your own interesting places so your images are different from everyone else. Just be careful not to copy other people's images. You can even add your favorite photography hotspots to the list to share with everyone.
